This Christmas, you could buy the vegan in your life a bag/mug/coaster/etc. with the word ‘vegan’ printed on it. Or, alternatively, you could check out some of the considerate present ideas I’ve come up with, which are a bit less ‘what the hell do I buy a vegan?’, and a bit more ‘I put time and thought into this gift’. Enjoy!
The Goodness Project Hampers
I can personally vouch for these as I got a Vegan Chocolate and Snack Gift Hamper for my birthday. They all have a big bar of Vego in, alongside 13 other treats. Highly recommend for anyone who likes chocolate!
LUSH is notoriously against animal testing and are really good at labelling their vegan products, making them a good shop for anyone in your life who likes a nice bubble bath or natural cosmetics. They have tons of gift sets for all different price ranges or, alternatively, their ‘Fighting Animal Testing’ tote bags are a kind of vegan essential.
Booja Booja chocolates
These are pricey, but the very best of vegan chocolate. You can pick them up in Holland and Barrett or in loads of places online. I see these raved about in vegan groups constantly, so they’re guaranteed to be a hit.
My favourite brand is Vegan Police, who sell t-shirts and jumpers with not so ‘in your face’ type messages, and more cute drawings of animals. They have an Etsy shop which you can access here, and my favourite top is shown below!
A good pair of shoes
Will’s shoes make boots, trainers, loafers and brogues in gorgeous faux leather, at a reasonable price for long-lasting footwear. They’re a great option for men, as I don’t know of as many highstreet shops which sell faux leather office/going out shoes for your gentleman friends.
Another great option is the Dr. Martens vegan range – unisex, cruelty free and very trendy. They’re pretty pricey but last ages, so a great gift for someone you really love and want to see smile!
First has to be Tyne Chease. This is famous throughout the vegan community for being Absolutely Amazing. They do a massive variety of flavours, and come in little wrapped circles of cheesy goodness. If you know what someone likes you can get their favourite flavour, or if you’re not sure they do trios and gift sets with different flavours in. I’d be so chuffed if I woke up to one of these in my stocking.
MozzaRisella is another good choice. It’s the cheese that Pizza Express use, and which Zizzi used to use. It’s not very solid, but creamy and a lot smoother than Violife. You can buy it from The Vegan Kind here for £3.99.
On a trip to Meadowhall recently I came across a T2 shop, which sells all kinds of tea and cute tea cups. They have loads of vegan options, including white and black teas, tea bags and loose tea leaves. There’s a vast amount of flavours, from chocolate chai all the way to pomegranate. They even sell gift sets of different flavours and pretty teapots to brew your tea in!
A cheaper alternative is Pukka Tea, which you can pick up in most supermarkets or health stores. My all time favourite flavour is vanilla chai, and they also do teas which help you sleep too.
